Szent István University (SZIU), Hungary’s flagship life sciences university consists of 8 different faculties for studies and research hosting approximately 13,000 students. The university’s campuses, located throughout the country, are home to some beautiful buildings in Hungary, offering students and staff a comfortable, relaxing environment for the attainment of knowledge. With parts of its history dating back over a century, SZIU blends Hungary’s rich traditions with cutting-edge technology to meet the needs of its students in today’s competitive labor markets.

Within the eight faculties, degree programs are offered in a wide variety of subjects ranging from natural and environmental sciences, food engineering, horticulture, landscape architecture and mechanical engineering to business economics, social sciences, civil engineering and health sciences. Programs are available at every level from vocational training, through BSc, MSc courses to PhD and beyond.

SZIU understands the importance of internationalization and promotes a variety of international activities. With partners on almost every continent, SZIU students and staff can operate on a global scale to gain and share the essential knowledge for success in the globalized world. In addition to the courses offered to Hungarian students, SZIU have launched several BSc, MSc and PhD programs in English as well.

The main campus is located in Central-Hungary, in Gödöllő, which is approx. 25 km from the capital, Budapest. The campus can be reached easily and is situated in a pleasant, green environment. The on-campus dormitories offer services of 3-star hotels, therefore the students can be accommodated in comfortable and modern rooms. The various associations and organizations of students contribute to an active student life on campus. The sport center and the recently renovated football fields provide several sport facilities to the youth.
