About the University

Mediterranean Karpas University (UMK) traces its history back to 2012, when after three years of training in cooperation with the University of the Turkish Aviation Association, it hospitably opened its doors and received its first students.

The university is located in the capital of Northern Cyprus, Nicosia, and is located just a few minutes walk from its center.

The university's educational programs are recognized by the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YOK). This fact, together with the UMK accreditation by the Turkish Ministry of Education (YÖDAK), indicates the possibility of voluntary transfer of a student, if necessary, to study at universities in other countries.

The university prides itself on a highly professional teaching staff and values its reputation as a multicultural, friendly community of students living in Cyprus or coming to study from different parts of the world.

In addition to educational activities, the university has conducted research work at a high-quality level.

Thanks to close cooperation with numerous companies, the university actively assists in the employment of its graduates.
